About Simon Armit BVSc

Hello, my name is Dr Simon Armit and I am the sole veterinarian at Brisbane Pet Doctors.  I graduated from the University of Queensland in 1999 and immediately commenced working at the Ascot Veterinary Surgery in Brisbane.  Over the past 20 years I have been fortunate to work alongside some wonderfully talented vets and nurses in general, referral and emergency practices.  More recently I have been working with a large, caring team to safely transport pets to their new homes overseas.

When I'm not working I enjoy spending time with my four-legged buddy, Sebastian, playing a round of golf, fishing and supporting the mighty Queensland Bulls.

It is my vision that Brisbane Pet Doctors offer it's furry patients and their families a caring, honest and compassionate veterinary service.

Please don't hesitate to call or email me today.

EXPORT VET SERVICES

Preparing a pet to travel overseas can sometimes involve a number of time-critical treatments (vaccinations, parasite treatments or blood tests). We are able to provide you with current advice to best prepare your furred family member for their new life overseas

VACCINATIONS AND PREVENTATIVE HEALTH CARE

Vaccines for dogs and cats exist to prevent your pet from falling ill.  They provide immunity from a range of diseases that can affect both humans and animals. We tailor a vaccine program for each individual pet and their health circumstances.  As well as routine vaccines (eg C5 and F3) we also stock less commonly used rabies and Leptospirosis vaccines, particularly for pets travelling to a new home overseas.

LABORATORY TESTS

Sometimes laboratory tests (blood tests, biopsy samples, culture swabs etc) are required to help check for certain health problems in pets and see how their bodies are working.  These tests can also help to monitor a pet's response to medication or recovery following recent illness.  We have access to in-house testing as well as specialised veterinary laboratories.
